Service policy / terms

Use Canvas responsibly.

These service-specific terms supplement the Silhouette Exchange terms and apply when you use Canvas or publish an architecture scan.

Last updated 20 July 2026

The service

Silhouette Canvas is a public developer utility provided by Silhouette AG. It converts user-supplied architecture metadata into interactive maps and portable documentation. Canvas does not verify that a map is complete, current, or technically correct.

Your content

You retain responsibility for the scans you import or publish. You confirm that you have the right to share the submitted metadata and grant Silhouette the limited permission needed to store, process, and display it through the service.

Do not submit source code, credentials, personal data, confidential information, malware, unlawful content, or material that infringes another party's rights.

Sharing and access

Published links are public and unlisted rather than private. You are responsible for controlling where a link and its edit token are shared. Silhouette may remove content, pause publishing, or restrict access when necessary to protect users, infrastructure, or legal rights.

Availability and warranties

Canvas is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. Features, limits, retention, and availability may change. Do not rely on Canvas as the sole copy of architecture documentation or as a security, compliance, or code review decision-maker.

General terms

The Silhouette Exchange Terms and Conditions apply where relevant and control in the event of a conflict. Questions or abuse reports can be sent to team@silhouette.exchange.
